Zoological Companion Animal Service

Dr. Katarina Bennett, DABVP (ECM)

Dr. Katarina Bennett, our board-certified zoological companion animal vet, takes appointments and surgery consults weekly. She has 10 years of experience treating zoologic companion species and especially loves to work with ferrets and tortoises! Dr. Bennett attended vet school at the Atlantic College of Veterinary Medicine in PEI, Canada. She followed her love of zoological animals to Saskatchewan for an internship in Zoo, Exotics, and Wildlife at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine after graduation. She then stayed at the university for a year as a Clinical Associate, and subsequently completed an ABVP residency program in Exotic Companion Mammals and passed the board exam in 2016. After all those years in the tundra, she moved to Florida for some warmth and ran a specialty service at a referral center for years. In 2022 she and her partner moved to Colorado for a change of scenery and fun in the mountains and she is incredibly excited to bring an exotic animal specialty service to Evolution Veterinary Specialists! In her time off she enjoys all the outdoor activities, reading, podcasts, drawing, and hanging with her non-exotic pets: Neil Catrick Purris (cat), Stone (dog), Bean McTumblr (cat) and Walter (dog).
