Endoscopy

At Evolution, we utilize state-of-the-art equipment to provide the best care to all of our patients. Endoscopy uses a tiny video camera at the end of a very narrow scope, called an endoscope, to visualize organs such as the nasal cavity, stomach or intestines non-invasively (without surgery). Use of endoscopy therefore allows our veterinarians to remove and visualize nasal (inside nose), esophageal (inside throat), and gastric (inside stomach) foreign bodies, and in many cases remove them without surgery. We have successfully and noninvasively removed an interesting array of foreign objects from our patients including wine corks, small toys and hand towels! Endoscopy can also be used for diagnostic purposes such as visualizing and biopsying ulcers, tumors and abnormal tissue.
