Chance

Dr. Lake-Bakaar and the team at EVS is conducting a clinical study on diuretics and Chance is our first participant! He came into our hospital yesterday for increased coughing and respiratory effort. Our ER Doctor found that his mild heart murmur had worsened, and he was diagnosed with mitral regurgitation a condition that affects heart valve and congestive heart failure (fluid buildup in the lungs).

Pumpkin

Pumpkin presented for bruising after a bath. Blood work revealed an extremely low platelet count and further evaluation is consistent with a condition known as immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (ITP). With this condition, the body starts attacking and destroying the platelets causing an inability to clot properly.

Thor

We are so excited to see Thor doing better after being hospitalized for kidney failure. He’s improving every day and is at home with his loved ones again.

Leo

Leo was taken to Foothills Animal Hospital for severe vomiting. After stabilization and bloodwork, he was transferred to our hospital for further assessment.

Haus

We first saw Haus at the beginning of December due to episodes of collapsing, heavy breathing, coughing, and lethargy. Our cardiologist found that he had Dilated Cardiomyopathy, likely from a grain-free diet. After proper treatment and medication, he is feeling like himself again and gaining some weight back (partially due to all the treats he receives during checkups).

Zeus M.

Zeus came into our ER hospital for stabilization and overnight monitoring after he had a seizure. He was very talkative, active, and excited during his stay at our hospital. Right before he went home, he found his blankie and crashed after a long night.

Zeus D.

Zeus came into our ER last night because he decided his mom’s dark chocolate would be a yummy treat!

Zoe

Zoe came into our ER because she was lethargic. Her examination and tests were unremarkable so we elected conservative therapy with instructions for follow up if she did not improve at home.

Nash

Nash, a Catahoula leopard dog, came into our ER this weekend because he ate some vinyl siding.

Rambo

Update on Rambo, a patient who has a history of severe mitral regurgitation, congestive heart failure and azotemia. He was hospitalized almost one month ago for difficulty breathing and severe coughing.
