EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: 1+ years experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary CSR

JOB SUMMARY

Come work at a hospital that is focused on patient care, communication, and education! EVS is a privately owned specialty and emergency hospital with Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Radiology. The role of the Specialty Liaison will be to help support the Specialty departments with appointment scheduling, client contact, and records keeping. They will work closely with these departments to ensure optimal appointment efficiency and time management throughout the hospital. This position will also aid clinical staff by entering charges captured by services performed and products received and to review financial records to rectify discrepancies and missed charges. An ideal candidate is driven, analytical, an excellent multi-tasker, has great attention to detail, enjoys routine tasks and data entry, and has experience in veterinary medicine or the ability to learn and apply knowledge rapidly.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Competently speak and write the English language, Spanish a plus
  • Must possess exceptional organizational and management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially to a diverse range of audiences and settings
  • Ease with computer systems, able to quickly learn and navigate new systems.
  • Ability to work independently

  • Scheduling/rescheduling/canceling appointments
  • Client check-ins
  • Sending appointment reminders
  • Collecting and inputting necessary patient records
  • Communicating important updates and information to Specialty staff
  • Maintaining individual nuances between each Specialty department
  • Entering all services into the hospital information system
  • Preparing updated treatment plans
  • Reviewing treatment plans with clients
  • Collecting deposits as necessary
  • Assist Client Service Representatives with all tasks at the discretion of management
  • Assist with recovery on Aged Receivables
  • Assist in returning approved credits on client accounts
  • Assist with End of Day financials
  • Charge Capturing of inpatients
  • Assist with outpatient charges for the ER
  • Processing collection accounts
  • Educate clients of the payment/resource options (CareCredit, ScratchPay, VetBilling, Trupanion)
  • Financial Account Auditing (Quickbooks, Bank Account, Vendors, Client, Partnered Hospitals.)

Scheduling: A regular, Full time employee of Evolution Veterinary Specialists, Inc, will be expected to work an average/minimum 36 hours/week. Hours typically vary and include holidays, weekends, swing shifts, overnights, and on-call as necessary to fill the needs of the hospital. A typical starting schedule (subject to change) would be 5 x 8 hour shifts weekly.
