Maxwell

Little Maxwell was getting tired more quickly than his siblings and was found to have a loud heart murmur during his 3-week checkup, so he came into our cardiologist to see if his heart was functioning properly. Although puppies can grow out of soft heart murmurs, a loud heart murmur is usually a sign of congenital heart disease and should be evaluated by a cardiologist as soon as possible. An echocardiogram found a small defect in his heart between his two ventricles (pumping chambers) called a Ventricular Septal Defect but there currently isn’t any overload to the heart. We’ll see Maxwell again when he’s fully grown!
