Daffy’s Bald Spot Badge: Overcoming Sebaceous Cysts and Embracing Her Beauty

Daffy was adopted as a puppy, bringing her family joy from day one with her adorable personality and a unique look. She had a little bald spot on her head, marked by a small scar that came with a sweet story: her family was told that Daffy’s mom had overgroomed her and licked her so often that it left a scar. Since then, Daffy has worn her bald spot proudly, like her own little badge of love, as she happily lives her best doggy life.

Recently, Daffy visited EVS to have a few sebaceous cysts removed from beneath her bald patch. Sebaceous cysts are common in dogs and form when a hair follicle or skin pore becomes blocked, causing an accumulation of sebum, a thick, oily substance produced by the skin. While typically harmless, these cysts can sometimes grow, get irritated, or cause discomfort, especially in active, happy pups like Daffy.

Dr. O’Donnell worked his magic to remove the cysts with care, and now Daffy’s signature spot has a fresh covering of soft fur! She’s ready to show off her full head of hair as she continues living her healthiest, happiest life.

Good girl Daffy!
