Depending on your pet's condition, our cardiology team will typically recommend an echocardiogram to asses your pets heart disease in detail. Other diagnostics that may be recommended include:

-Chest radiographs

-Blood pressure evaluation

-Bloodwork including BNP measure of structural cardiac disease

Can my pet undergo anesthesia with heart disease?

Even anesthesia in health pets has certain risks. However, many pets with heart disease can undergo anesthesia when appropriate precautions, individualized planning, and advanced monitoring are used. Every patient is evaluated individually by our medical team.

Does my pet need to see a cardiologist first?

Not always. If your veterinarian has concerns about your pet's heart health, we can coordinate a cardiology consultation before scheduling a procedure. However, if a heart murmur or other abnormal cardiac finding is detected, cardiology evaluation is typically going to be recommended.

Can my regular veterinarian refer my pet?
