Dr. Anna Thyen

DVM, Residency trained in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care

Dr. Anna Thyen is originally from southern Indiana but has frequented the Denver area often over the last decade. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University, with a focus in emergency medicine. She then went on to complete a small animal rotating internship at Ohio State, where she found herself gravitating toward the more critical cases. With this in mind, she stayed on at Ohio State as an Emergency and Critical Care resident. She graduated from the residency program in 2024 and joined the EVS team shortly thereafter. Over the three years, she gained the knowledge and experience needed to care for critical patients and their families.  

Dr. Thyen enjoys all aspects of critical care medicine, including communication. She feels it is important to keep the families involved and informed during emergent situations and will be there to help however she can. She has special interests in trauma medicine, sepsis and all things emergency. She is our Critical Care doctor on the floor, but you will often see her taking ER cases, as she enjoys helping in all aspects of your pet’s care. 

In her spare time, you can find Dr. Thyen outside with her dogs and partner. They enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, running, biking, skiing, and most other activities outside.
